shutter works, with Sonnar 1.5/5cm no.1983503, engraved on base plate: 'Unserem l. FREDDY TOMLINS zur Erinnerung an sein Schaulaufen im Berliner Sportpalast Weihnachten 1937'. The same text is also engraved on a metal plate attached on the leather case. The British ice-skater Freddie Tomlins won the silver medal at the European and World Championships in 1939. He also became famous when at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen he forced his way past Hitler's bodyguards to get an autograph from Hitler.
