Daguerreian Tripod

American, the tripod made entirely of mahogany with three turned legs screwing into a bell-shaped collar with hole for sliding centre column, the threaded column screwing into a 6½ x 10", platform with hinged tray for daguerreotype camera. The angle of the tray is adjusted by turned screw at back. Height adjustable from 33 to 59" A rare and early tripod. Ex Spira Collection.
