A rare wartime Leica IIIc with grey vulcanite covering and “Luftwaffeneigentum” engraving, accompanied by the matching Elmar 3.5/5cm no.537375, likewise Luftwaffe-engraved, and its matching grey leather case (case needs some repairs). The vulcanite shows some age-related cracking, while the outfit otherwise presents very well. According to the delivery records, the camera was shipped to Anilin in Helsingfors (Helsinki) in 1942. At the time, Finland and Germany were military co-belligerents against the Soviet Union during the Continuation War, with substantial German forces stationed in Finland, giving this Luftwaffe outfit an especially interesting wartime context.
