German 35 mm rangefinder from C. A. Steinheil, Munich. Updated from the Casca I with a coupled rangefinder, combined viewfinder with multiple framelines, interchangeable lenses via the unique Casca II bayonet (spring-loaded detents), a cloth focal-plane shutter to 1/1000 s, and adjustable M/X flash sync. Short-lived, relatively costly, and produced in modest numbers—an uncommon and desirable post-war design. The offered example is in beautiful, mint condition and includes a Culminar VL 2.8/5cm no. 578416 and a Culminar 4.5/13.5cm (cond. A/B). The best example we have encountered.
