Tokyo Optical Co. (Japanese Tōkyō Kōgaku), later better known under the Topcon name, produced the Simlar 50mm f/3.5, a lens frequently supplied with Leotax cameras. The example offered here is one of the earliest nickel-finished versions, still engraved 'Tokyo Optical Co., State 3.5/50mm,' and built in a style closely resembling the Leitz Elmar. The lens is in beautiful condition, with very good optics, and ranks among the rarest Elmar copies ever produced in the Japanese camera industry.
