As a special order this camera was painted black by Leitz company in 1964, no military engravings. We surmise that this camera was specially treated for Henri Cartier-Bresson. Cartier-Bresson is shown holding a black paint IIIg on page 385 of the book 'Wer sind Sie, H.C.B?' (photo: Robert Delpire, Paris 1967). The invoice for this conversion from E.Leitz France is dated March 3rd,1965, though the address is covered up. It is the only known civilian IIIg in black. In very nice original condition and perfect technical order.
