A very rare original Leica MP no.295, from the small production series of professional M cameras introduced in 1956. The MP was based on the Leica M3 and designed primarily for professional photographers, incorporating a modified film transport mechanism for use with the Leicavit rapid winder.
According to the Leica delivery records, camera no.295 was delivered to Manca, New York, on 12.08.1957.
The camera is in original condition, only the back door is earlier. It is fitted with a matching Leicavit and comes with a rigid Summicron 2/5cm no.1533275, together with its hood and the lower part of the leather ever-ready case.
A fine example of one of the rarest early Leica M cameras.
