An extremely rare Zunowflex 35mm SLR camera, introduced by Zunow Optical Industry in 1958 and regarded as one of the most technically advanced Japanese SLR cameras of its period.
The innovative Zunowflex combined an instant-return mirror, removable pentaprism and internally coupled automatic diaphragm, features that anticipated the development of the modern professional 35mm SLR. Production remained extremely limited, with only a few hundred cameras believed to have been manufactured, making surviving examples exceptionally scarce today.
The offered camera is preserved in good overall condition, showing a small dent to the prism housing, and is fitted with the matching Zunow 1.8/5cm lens no. 20656.
A highly desirable and seldom-seen camera representing an important milestone in the early development of the Japanese 35mm SLR.
