Extremely rare M-mount Summilux, pre-series in almost mint condition, very good optics with few discrete cleaning marks, typical for these pre-series, the numbers on the aperture scale are engraved bigger. There is '1.4' engraved on the depth of field scale, a similar lens with the consecutive serial number no.1546045 is illustrated in van Hasbroeck's 'Leica in Colour', page 115, still with 'Summarit' engraved, the offered lens was delivered later to Munich on 19.03.1959, Leitz probably updated the front ring as the Summilux version was already available on the market, together with both caps.
