Very rare prototype of the later Summicron with thorium-oxide element, in correct focusing mount with diaphragm to 22. The lens is in excellent cosmetic condition, and the optics show some slight cleaning marks on the front element. Only a small series of these lenses was produced for testing purposes in 1950, three years before the Summicron was introduced to the market.
