Extremely rare and important Canon rangefinder camera, the first original synchronised Canon camera, but also the first with shutter speed up to 1/1000sec, and finally the first to allow the use of a rapid winder, a pre-model of the Canon IV. In total only 50 of these were produced between July and November 1950 (serial numbers allocated nos.500000-50199), most of them delivered to retailer C.R. Skinner in San Francisco. The offered camera is in beautiful condition, only marked by some light scratches on top and bottom plates, together with matching Serenar 1.9/50mm no.20485 (front lens cap), note the base plate engraved with 'MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN SERVICED AND GUARANTEED IN SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA', note also the side sync. flash rail. This is a special occasion for every serious Canon collector!
