Rare very late black chrome body without '50 Jahre' special engravings, made in Midland, Canada. The Leica M4 was introduced in 1967 with no.1175001 in black paint and chrome finish, the production was temporarily halted in 1971 at no.1286700. In 1974, production started again with no.1380001 with a new black chrome finish. The camera proposed is in beautiful, mint condition, and includes a body cap, note the unusual '*' at the end of the serial number, most probably probably denoting a duplicate, together with very rare original E. Leitz New York outfit case with special US-military plates, with insert (cond. B+).
