An extremely rare Konica F, introduced in 1960 as the company’s very first 35 mm single-lens reflex camera and one of the earliest Japanese SLRs with an instant-return mirror. The Konica F was produced only in very limited numbers (fewer than 1,600 units are believed to have been made) before being quickly replaced by the more advanced FS model, making it one of the hardest Konica cameras to find today.
The camera features a robust die-cast body, a newly developed bayonet mount, and advanced shutter speeds up to 1/2000 s – a remarkable achievement at the time. Offered here in beautiful, near-mint condition with well-preserved mechanics, shutter speeds accuracy not tested, together with Hexanon 3.5/135mm no.5670960 with good optics (front lens cap). It is an excellent example of a landmark model in the history of Japanese SLR development, and an important piece for every serious collector.
