A sought-after, extremely rare, first-version black-paint Leica M3. The camera is in excellent cosmetic condition, displaying an attractive patina from use, and comes with a later base plate. It was originally delivered to Brandt in Sweden on May 22, 1958. Research in the Leica archives has confirmed a matching annotation in the Leica Control Book: “schwarz lack.” It is the most desirable version of the black paint Leica M3.
