A rare prototype Zenit camera, developed on commission for the KGB to archive classified documents. While standard Zenit cameras of the period used 135 film with 36 exposures, competing manufacturers had already introduced models capable of 250 exposures. To match this, the Krasnogorsk factory was tasked with creating a 250-exposure version of the Zenit.
The project was never brought into the serial production, but a small number of prototypes were completed. The offered example is one of these rare cameras and is preserved in good working condition.
