the offered Contax turn signal for automobiles is one of the non-photographic products manufactured by Zeiss Ikon between 1928/29. Within this short period some 100.000 units of the Contax direction indicators were ordered by the German industry and used in Daimler-Benz and Opel cars. The turn signal was mounted outside the car and was automatically activated when the driver turned to either side. When not in action the illuminated red arrow showed up to the sky, as soon as the steering wheel was turned, a low voltage electromagnet was energized and moved the arrow in a way that it pointed to the chosen direction. A rare collectable for lovers of vintage camera and cars alike!
