well designed French stereo viewer for 25 glass slides in either 45x107 or 6x13 format. The ability to change format is a feature unique to the Metascope - it only requires the appropriate size trays and the removal of the metal mask (included) behind the lenses. The viewer for sale is equipped for 6x13 format slides only. Makers label on the front, 41cm high wooden body with brass fittings, the distance of the eyepieces is adjustable and is displayed on a scale with a little arrow shaped finger, the eyepieces can be removed easily since they are attached with a bayonet mount, the front part holding the lenses can be completely opened to change slides. The slides are transported automatically by pushing a lever on the right side of the apparatus down, the number is displayed on a brass dial. A rare viewer in good condition.
