sought-after French tray-type automatic viewer, for stereo slides, with base storage, makers label with the companies logo on the front inscribed: 'Stéreoscope Magnetique Planox', the label with the a horseshoe magnet was chosen, because Planox viewers use magnetic pickup rather then the more common rods for elevating the slides from beneath, each slide had to be fitted with a thin metal strip known as a barrette, with each down stroke of the plate changing lever, a simple ratchet advances the carriage and sweeps the previous slide away from the magnets, adjustable focus and eye base, image indicator, detachable electric illumination, one extra slide-tray included
