Hubert Saget (1890-1949) crafted the iconic Leica poster for Swiss opticians, early distributors of Leica cameras. There were three distinct versions of the poster: (1) Optiker Koch Zürich, (2) Strüben der Optiker, and (3) Wiegandt L'Opticien. The first two versions featured the German slogan 'Leica, das kleine Photo-Wunder', while the Wiegand version was presented in French, reading: 'Leica le merveilleux petit appareil photographique'. Although several examples of the German versions exist, the French version presented here is the only known specimen. Measuring 91x127cm, it is framed and in exquisite condition.
