two exceptionally elaborate versions of a Holmes type stereoscope with metal guides and plush-covered hoods, (1) made by G.A. Gartner, on a stand, all metal parts are nickel-plated, all wooden parts and the base of the stand are covered with red plush, the cardholder and the hood have small handles in the shape of metal Fleur-de-Lis. Mounted on the card holder a label engraved "Patented Aug. 28. 1883". Some wear and damage, but still an interesting and important piece, (2) incomplete viewer made by Gustav Schneck with rack and pinion focus, the visor is covered in purple plush, the base of the stand is missing, embossed on the side: "Patented on 19 May 1885".
