Rare early photo-reproduction of the original painted portrait of Peter Wilhem Friedrich von Voigtländer (Vienna 17.11.1812 - Braunschweig 08.04.1878) made in 1840, 50x62cm in 60x70cm frame, grandson of Voigtländer's company founder Johann Christoph, known to have developed the first high quality lenses with mathematician Joseph Maximilian Petzval in the early years of photography, on the background, you can see the famous Voigtländer Daguerrotype camera, in very good condition, only a few spots of corrosion can be seen.
