a pair of large professional lanterns, wooden body with tin made roofs and lens holders, lens with rack and pinion focus, one lantern has the door an the left, the other one on the right side, both doors have a brass locker and a round window with dark blue glass in order to control the arc-light, one lantern carries a bone-made makers label engraved 'IMPROVED DISSOLVING VIEW APPARATUS – STEREOSCOPIC COMPANY – OPTICAL & PHILOS.L. INS.T. DEP.T – 110 & 108 REGENT ST. W', although both lanterns would need some restoration, this is still a rare and interesting lot. Ex-Abring Collection
