boxed first model of the French streamline aerial camera called ‘La mitrailleuse photographique’ made by 'Optique et Précision de Levallois', a well known maker of surveying instruments located near Paris, the all-metal camera is complete in great original condition, it comes in the original fitted wooden box together with the original cable release which was mounted inside the pilots cabin, a set of mounting parts and tools and an additional film holder, in the lid of the box a handwritten inventory. The ’mitrailleuse photographique’ was used for training purposes by the French Air Force in combination with a Lewis machine gun. The 1927 model of the camera had an built in Chronograph, by the end of WII both models were produced under the label FOCA. A beautiful and highly collectible camera!
