Leica M4 'Ella Maillart'

chrome Leica M4 owned and used by famous Swiss writer and photographer Ella Maillart, the camera is in used condition and in good working order, with 8-element Summicron 2/35mm no.1630775 (good optics with minimal marks only), included with the camera are copies of correspondence between Leitz and Mrs. Maillart, a vintage print showing the photographer with an earlier Leica III, ever-ready case with a name and address of Mrs. Maillart written inside Ella Maillart (1903-1997) After a sport career in her early days Ella Maillart spent years exploring oriental republics of the USSR, as well as other parts of Asia. She published a rich series of books which, just as her photographs, are today considered valuable historical testimonies. Her photographic work is deposited at the Musée de l'Élysée in Lausanne and has been exhibited worldwide.
