Leica M2 black paint 'Sean Flynn'

Black paint Leica M2 owned and used by famous US press photographer Sean Flynn, son of actor Errol Flynn and known for his striking coverage of Vietnam War; in search of exceptional images Flynn traveled often with special forces units and was parachuting into hostile areas. On April 6th, 1970, Flynn with his fellow photojournalist Dana Stone chose to travel on motorcycles into the communist-held part of Cambodia, they were captured by Viet Cong forces, never to be seen again. The Flynn's camera shows significant signs of wear due to the years of professional use in extreme conditions, still it is in perfect working order. Equipped with sought after steel-rim Summilux 1.4/35 no.2166593 (from the last series of 200 lenses made in 1966), attached to the camera is a short strap made from a parachute cord, with steel ring from a hand grenade. Flynn used this camera for his coverage of Vietnam War and the Six Day War in Israel. Included with this lot are 34 modern prints from Flynn's Vietnam coverage, four photos by his Fellow photojournalist Tim Page (three of them showing Flynn) and one photograph of Flynn with his M2 by David Greenway - all printed and hand-signed by Tim Page. Also included is a letter of confirmation and certificate of authenticity signed by Rory Flynn - Sean Flynn's sister.
