A very special example of Leica’s exclusive anniversary set created to celebrate 100 years since the introduction of the Leica I in 1925. The edition comprises a Leica M11-D together with two matching lenses: the Leitz Anastigmat-M 3.5/50mm, a modern recreation of the lens fitted to the original Leica I, and the Leica Summilux-M 1.4/50mm ASPH., both finished in a distinctive nickel-coloured anodised surface.
The M11-D features numerous design references to the original Leica I, including a high-gloss black-painted brass top plate, nickel-coloured controls with traditional cross knurling, black M bayonet, distinctive leather covering and the historic “Ernst Leitz Wetzlar” engraving.
Only 100 regularly numbered sets were produced, numbered No. 001 to No. 100, in addition to the unique No. 000 set containing the one-millionth Leica M camera. The example offered here is the particularly significant No. 100/100 – the final numbered set of the edition, with the corresponding edition number on the camera and both lenses.
It is in mint, unused condition and complete with the original cognac-coloured leather protector with carrying strap, SD-card case, certificate, booklet and the elaborate high-gloss black lacquered wooden presentation case, as delivered.
