A very rare military version of the Leica IIIg, produced in 1960 for the Swedish Armed Forces. Only 125 cameras were made in satin black paint, within the serial range 987901–988025. The cameras were distinguished by the engraved Swedish Three Crowns emblem on the rear of the top plate.
The camera is accompanied by the matching silver-chrome Elmar 2.8/5cm no.1636147, likewise engraved with the Swedish Three Crowns.
The black-painted Swedish Army IIIg represents one of the rarest regular-production variants of the Leica screw-mount system and is particularly desirable when preserved together with its corresponding military-marked lens.
