An interesting and extremely rare Leica 'CL-2' prototype from around 1994. While technically a Leica Minilux, Leica considered naming the camera the CL-2 prior to its official release. Notably, the lens is marked 'Summicron' instead of 'Summarit,' as seen in the final production version. Additional unique features include a prototype film back (lacking markings near the knobs), a special serial number, and the traditional Leica logo on the top plate.
The offered camera is in beautiful, near-mint condition and is in perfect working order. It represents a fascinating piece of Leica history and a rare glimpse into the brand’s developmental process.
