an important early English stereoscope with a characteristic Neo-Gothic design, built to take both slides and cards and to create day-and-night effects due the possibility of interconnecting the hinged mirror and the wooden rear cover, sliding box focus, the viewer and the turned stand are made of solid wood, all metal parts are of brass. The exact date of registration, the 15th September 1854, is embossed on the front. A rare and exceptional viewer from the days of the first public enthusiasm for stereo in the early 1850's.
