an important early English stereoscope with a characteristic Neo-Gothic design, built to take slides and cards alike and to create day-and-night effects due the possibility to interconnect the hinged mirror and the wooden rear cover, sliding box focus, the viewer and the turned stand are made of solid wood, all metal parts are made of brass. The exact date of registration, the 15th September 1854, is embossed on the front and the serial number 27 is engraved on a oval brass plate. A rare an exceptional viewer from the days of the first public stereo enthusiasm in the early 1850's.
