In 1944, under a directive from the USSR government, the Krasnogorsk Optical Mechanical Plant (KMZ) manufactured a remarkable Camera-Rifle. This innovative Rifle Kit was bestowed upon party leaders and Red Army generals in recognition of their military achievements during the Second World War.
The offered example shows a distinctive hammertone finish that sets it apart from later examples, highlighting its uniqueness and historical significance. It comes with a beautiful mahogany case. Notably, this FS-2 Rifle is the earliest known model in existence today. It remains in excellent original condition, fully operational and technically sound. The set includes a 4.5/30cm lens no.1176, finished in black paint, a yellow filter, and a FED body no.94312 modified with a quick mount plate and hand-engraved on the top plate with the matching number '1154'.
