This very rare rollover camera was made in a special workshop of the KMZ combine at Krasnogorsk near Moscow. For copying documents it is rolled over the document left to right at a speed of 20cm/sec by hand and copies a 10cm wide strip of the document to a 8.3mm filmstrip in a special cassette. All serial numbers on the camera, the accessories and the original grey aluminium case were removed. The camera is disguised as a notebook. The camera has its own light source that switches on automatically when the camera is moved across the document. The outfit also comprises a crank operated precision film cutter that cuts two strips of 8,3mm out of a 35mm film. One cassette, charger for button cells (115 and 220V). See Keith Melton 'Ultimate Spy, Expanded Edition', page 100, a quite similar outfit was sold in our last auction (Lot 422)
