extremely rare original military camera for the German Navy (Kriegsmarine), top plate factory engraved 'M 497' (delivered as LOOQA on March 17th, 1942 to BLN Berlin, delivery number 29650), matching Hektor 4.5/13.5cm no.538536 engraved with Reichsadler M and MF 631' in used condition (delivered as HEFAR to BLN Berlin on May 9th, 1940, delivery number 9291), matching VIOOH universal finder engraved with Reichsadler M and M.F. 681 - the camera is illustrated in '30 JAHRE LEICA HISTORICA Screwmount cameras with military engravings' by Dr. Luigi Cane p.259, see also Lager Vol. I p.93 - 90% of all offered Marine Leicas are fakes, this is one of the very few original cameras existing
