Extremely rare original military HEFAR lens with grey-painted focusing mount (matching the special grey IIIc K Leicas), delivered to BLN Berlin on 20.09.1944. The lens is in very good cosmetic condition, complete with a matching grey-painted front cap.
Similar examples are referenced in James Lager, Vol. II, p. 102 and Vol. I, pp. 90–91.
It is estimated that only about 90 of these special lenses were produced, including examples not specified in Leica's delivery records. Only a handful are known to exist today, having survived the turbulence of WWII.
