eccentric and very rare Holmes type stereoscope on a stand, from its construction one might deduct that the metal structure on top was concerned with feeding sets of cards, but even specialists like Paul Wing did not find a completely satisfactory explanation. The vertically orientated electric lamp which was originally mounted in the rear is missing, otherwise in complete and functional condition, the metal parts show heavy wear. One of the last unsoved mysteries in stereo histroy!
