Fritz Völk (GXN) Handkamera Hk 12.5/7x9 Aerial Camera

aerial camera built by Fritz Völk (military code: "gxn") in Berlin for the German air force (Luftwaffe) to produce 7x9cm exposures on roll film, body painted grey, Xenon 2/12.5cm no.45399 in green wooden case. In 1940 the Swedish army recovered an example of this camera from an abandoned German airplane. They were impressed by the quality of the aerial images and asked Victor Hasselblad to build cameras producing the same image quality. Within the same year Victor Hasselblad opened his first factory in Göteborg manufacturing his first camera - the legendary HK-7
