An exceptionally rare ELCAN-R 2/75mm no. 341-0011, optical design C-341, developed by Ernst Leitz Canada in the early 1970s as part of the U.S. Navy High Resolution Small Format Camera System. The apochromatic eight-element Double-Gauss design was created under Walter Mandler and engineered for exceptionally high resolution and colour correction extending into the infrared spectrum. Only approximately 20 examples were produced, numbered 341-0001 to 341-0020, making it one of the rarest lenses produced for the Leica R system.
The offered lens is in very good condition, with very good optics showing only a few fine hairline marks, and comes together with a black-paint Leica Leicaflex SL no. 1257275.
