handpicked compilation of six turn-of-the-Century stereoscopes, for different formats, all collapsible and made of wood, (1) unlabeled stereographoscope, very likely made in England or the US around 1890, the detachable wooden lens holder is mounted on a sliding base to adjust the focus, the carved cardholder is hinged and can be folded onto the base, in good condition, (2) Wheeler & Bazin (Boston) folding 'Bellvue' viewer, ingenious design, made of walnut with silver plated metal parts, a classical stereoscope with the characteristic turned wooden oculars, (3) early folding Brewster viewer made of fruit wood, the solid sides and the lens board are hinged to allow the viewer to be folded into a box, in good and working condition, (4,5,6) three simple folding scopes of unknown origin, all in good condition, every piece with nice individual details.
