Exceptional and early 19th century French peep show for two spectators. When closed the optical toy resembles a large book or folio – the spine and the fore edge are carved with utmost accuracy and appear surprisingly realistic. The two large lenses on the front cover are hidden behind wooden boards, the six views and a large mirror are stored inside when not in use. Considering its age the peep show is in very good original and un-restored condition. Closed measurements: 59x43x11,5 cm.
