Benthos Robotic Underwater Camera 'Lil Geek'

Equipped with a TV camera and photographic camera it sends pictures back to a receiver on the mother ship. Operated from a surface ship or submarine, the MiniROVER MK II makes risky or routine underwater tasks easy and efficient. It found and helped to destroy mines in the Persian Gulf during and after the war. It is used for nuclear reactor inspection, harbour inspection and security, police search and recovery and salvage operations. Benthos cameras were used in the discovery of the R.M.S. Titanic and the German battleship Bismarck. This particular camera was also used in the film 'The Abyss' by James Cameron (1989), size c.80x50x40cm - the lot includes relevant information material - ex Jack Naylor Collection
