two classical barrel-shaped lanterns, (1) made by Jean Schoenner of Nuremberg in c. 1880, red painted tin body with gilded lining, the lens and the chimney are made of brass, handle made of bound wire on the left side, embossed makers label on the front, some wear otherwise in nice original condition, height: 35cm, (2) black painted barrel-shaped lantern mounted on a wooden panel, presumably German and almost identical with the Schoenner 'Fassmodell no 200-2006' from 1890, gilded makers label in shape of an eagle with the monogram 'HD', wonderful original condition, complete with the original lens and petroleum burner. An exceptionally well preserved lantern! Height: 34mm
