superb selection of early hand-coloured albumen prints, most of the cards are in good condition, some with slight wear, (1) four erotic cards of women displaying their ankles (and more), beautifully composed photographs, one embossed "Chappuis Patented Stereoscope, 69 Fleet Street", (2) three frivolous cards, the first one showing two women presenting a shift to a clergyman, the second one is entitled "One too Many" showing two gentlemen courting a young lady, in the last one two ladies are sharing a secret whilst a girl in the background is pretending not to listen, (3) two exceptionally well composed and finely coloured genre cards labelled "Evenings at Home" embossed J. Elliott, (4) five cards showing couples dancing at a ball, one of them is not coloured. (14)
