An exceptionally rare FOCA Miroplar 6.3/500mm no.15, manufactured by OPL (Optique et Précision de Levallois) in France. Introduced in the late 1950s, this unusual mirror telephoto lens uses a catadioptric optical construction, allowing a remarkably compact design for its 500mm focal length.
The Miroplar was produced in extremely small numbers, with only around 40 examples believed to have been made. It was intended for use with FOCA cameras via a dedicated reflex housing. The present lens is accompanied by the original FOCA reflex housing no.21, and Foca Universal no.201.142.
A particularly rare and technically fascinating FOCA outfit.
