An almost unknown Nikon S3 from the ‘Olympic’ batch in chrome finish, one of the rarest and least documented variants of the entire Nikon rangefinder system. While the vast majority of cameras from this special late production run were finished in black paint, chrome examples are virtually never encountered and remain largely absent even from advanced collections. This camera displays the characteristic technical features associated with the ‘Olympic’ series, including the titanium shutter and the later Nikon F-type advance lever, and is offered here with the correct all-black Olympic Nikkor 1.4/5cm no.141079. Presented in beautiful, near-mint condition, this is an exceptionally elusive and highly desirable collector’s camera.
