Extremely rare Hong Qi (“Red Flag”) 20 no.73029, produced in China in the early 1970s as a prestigious Leica M4-inspired rangefinder camera. Fewer than 200 cameras are generally believed to have been completed, primarily for government institutions, official press and presentation purposes rather than public sale.
The camera is accompanied by the matching Red Flag 1.4/50mm no.7300084, closely modelled on the Leitz Summilux, together with the original metal hood and front cap. A very rare and historically fascinating Chinese Leica copy.
