A highly interesting prototype Summicron 35 mm featuring a removable lens hood and a completely different optical and mechanical construction from both regular series-production versions. The lens is engraved with the prototype serial number B747-0004, where B747 denotes the optical formula and 0004 the consecutive example within this prototype series.
Preserved in excellent condition, the lens is accompanied by its matching prototype lens hood (condition B). A rare experimental lens by Ernst Leitz Canada (ELCAN).
