Issued in 1995 to mark Leica’s re-entry into the Chinese market, this prestigious edition was specially commissioned by the Schmidt Group of Companies and produced by Leica Camera GmbH in a strictly limited series of only 300 sets. The camera (no. 2174075) is finished in silver chrome with a special covering and is paired with a matching Summicron-M 2/50mm lens (no. 3700221). Both body and lens bear the distinctive “Gold Dragon” engraving along with the edition number 221/300. The set is presented in its luxurious rosewood case of traditional Chinese design, decorated with a dragon engraving on the lid and lined with fine Chinese silk. It is preserved in beautiful, mint condition.
