Released in August 1958, the Canon 1.5/35mm was the fastest 35mm lens available at the time. Today we have the pleasure to offer an original prototype 1.4/35mm Canon lens in Leica M39 mount. The lens is engraved in a different style than the later f.1.5 production version, also the infinity lock resembles the later lock from the 1.2/50mm. It is in exceptional, beautiful condition, with very good optics. It is a rare opportunity to purchase an original Canon prototype lens - most examples were destroyed after the serial production commenced. This is also the only known example of Canon 1.4/35mm known to exist - most probably also the only made.
