A very early example of the pre-war Canon S, no.10814, introduced in 1939 as one of Seiki-Kogaku’s advanced 35mm rangefinder cameras. It is fitted with the particularly rare Nippon Kogaku Nikkor 4.5/5cm no.50508, one of the earliest interchangeable Nikkor lenses and an original lens option for the Canon S. The scarce f/4.5 version was produced in very limited numbers before and during the war; no.50508 belongs to the late part of the known pre-war serial sequence. The camera is in very good condition, with the finder release knob missing.
