Viennese de luxe photo album

1) De luxe photo album "Presented by the staff of the Ottakinger Eisengießerei und Maschinenfabrik Reinhard Fernau & Co, Vienna on the 21st of January 1894 on the occasion of his 50th birthday." The recipient was the director and owner of the company at the time, Ernst Fernau. Inside are 16 double pages with 32 formal portraits of the staff taken by Benö Fülöp, Vienna V, Neugasse No. 21. Beneath each picture is the signature of the staff member. Extremely finely decorated heavy leather binding in beige with chased brass lock. Front cover with a brass frame and brass corner motifs; sinuous initials EF (Ernst Fernau) on blue enamelling. In the middle are two cartouches with miniature models of machines and tools, both cast. The inside of the cover is lined with Bordeau red satin. Gilt edged. Size 38x33cm. An original birthday letter to Ernst Fernau from the male choir of the R. Fernauschen Maschinenfabrik-Ottakring" is included in the lot.
